Methane release is one of the biggest climate offenders. Landfills and orphaned oil wells create a constant release of methane that must be mitigated at a large cost to municipalities (read tax payers) and small business owners. By harnessing this methane for power and monetizing it through bitcoin mining, we significantly reduce the methane release into the environment while turning an expense into a revenue line item. Constructing renewable energy infrastructure is costly, often requiring 15-30 years for companies to recover their investment. Bitcoin mining addresses the challenge of monetizing the energy production while cities develop the necessary infrastructure to integrate those renewables into the grid for public consumption. Our portable data centers enable us to resolve the dilemma of "can we afford to build more renewable power generation" and make it an easy decision!

When we setup sites in rural and urban environments, we staff those new sites with a local workforce. No one works harder for their own community than their own community members. This is bitcoin mining at the highest scale, building and operating the infrastructure at this scale provided an immense amount of wisdom for future build outs. JL, aka the Beardminer, is our resident bitcoin miner at Clutch and he was responsible for directing this immense project and hiring/training the 100 employee operation that lead to enterprise growth of 30x over the 2 years he was there.

7MW Solar farm

2024

After the local municipality turned down the solar farm owner's application to connect their panels to the local grid, they had to turn to alternative revenue generation models to sustain their business while working on other opportunities to get the power on the grid for communities to use. Clutch identified the perfect setup and equipment to monetize this unique power source and provide remote managed bitcoin mining for this rural site.
